The graphics are pretty detailed for the time, similar to an Amiga or Atari ST game, especially the scrolling terrain.
That upgrade-focused loop gives the game a rewarding sense of progression rarely found in shooters of the time, making each run feel like a step toward crafting the deadliest aircraft imaginable.
Sound effects are crunchy and satisfying, and the cheerful MIDI music is simple but effective.
pick this one up with the apogee collection for you old' school gamers out there, doesn't hurt to play it once in awhile. gamepad is probably best if you like gaming on the couch.
