What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Very intriguing storyline and way to tell a story all through computer documents, e-mails, IRC chats, etc.
Lastly, having content that is procedurally generated is awesome, but I felt like the game struggled between being "open world" and linear.
I really appreciated how immersive and educational it was, especially for those interested in cybersecurity or Linux-style environments.
Oh and one more thing: the game's soundtrack is super fun to listen to while doing the real thing.
Hacknet offers a surprisingly realistic experience of hacking through a command-line interface.
Hacknet leans into that fantasy while bringing the learning curve down to something genuinely manageable.
