What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The art, music, character design, and story are all phenomenal and the combat and exploring are very interactive and fun.
Certainly a step up from Islets in terms of visual design, lore, and environmental story telling.
The gameplay is a pretty standard albeit polished metroidvania affair, with a gentle difficulty curve that lends well to all players.
Along the way you will pick up a weapon, skills to navigate puzzles and hazards and encounter some very fluid combat.
This is more apparent now than in Islets because the art style and 2d fidelity has improved greatly, making the boxy level design feel overly simplistic in comparison.
It's a Kyle Thompson game, which means a solid soundtrack courtesy of his brother.
