Exploration is rewarding, particularly for completionists, and checking the map regularly pays off with secrets and upgrades.
I was still a bit confused about what really set all the events in the game in motion and I'm not sure I know the answer to that, having beaten the game, but that never prevented me from enjoying the story or getting excited about its developments.
Let's start with the visuals, which, for the most part, are absolutely top-notch.
The platforming is fun, exploration rewarding, environments gorgeous, and soundtrack spectacularly composed.
The Definitive Edition improvements add meaningful enhancements, including new difficulty modes, additional areas, expanded story elements, and refined systems that make the experience smoother and more accessible without losing its original charm.
But performance was rock solid on both my desktop and Steam Deck, so I think this was an artistic choice by the game, which I didn't entirely agree with.
