okay 4 hours in and i love this game, its weird and seemingly incoherent but the best part it is and isnt the characters say random stuff but after a while you pick up a pattern and thing start to slot into place, the visuals and even the sounds seem disjointed until it clicks you cant tell what attack does what just based on the sound itself. dying also isnt a the worse thing in the world as this allows you to upgrade your health almost like darksouls except the opposite you go to the afterlife and then you can increase your health (not with experience but with meat) and rest then choose a checkpoint you unlocked. these are some of the mechanics just from playing a couple of hours the whole tone of the game is weird but calming i dont think ive ever had a bit in game where i just built sandcastle for 20 minutes and accidentally knocked one over just to be like you know what lets just make a couple more. the game also (im not big jrpg guy) has decent combat that actually makes me think but not overtly complex like some games are an early example is enemies that blind me man this annoying wait um there was an item at the starting store that eliminates blinding effect okay thats done this item isnt super useful anymore but i have money now so let me get something that helps with defense or maybe. this game doesnt really have grinding like ff does but more like fear and hunger(not anywhere close on difficulty though) where more party members are your biggest upgrades but you can kill enemies for more meat and money but they are limited so no infinite money or meat to just power through the game but finding and completing a task makes you essentially double your damage to then 33% increase. my only complaint is during my first playthrough i did get stuck and lost 2 hours of progress but that was due to a glitch and not the overall experience this game is perfect if you just want something interesting and weird to play you dont need to know whats going just go through the world and relax. enjoy the music and shapes and relax death just means its time to level up and try again, take a nap, wash your face, and get back out there the world is weird and dangerous but enjoy the little things. you even have garden at your house which gives you free healing items so dont stress too much about item management just know death has consequences but theyre never dire worst part is trveling from the checkpoint crystal. ive yet to finish the game but im excited to and start 2 which i heard was just an improvement overall, i do recommend going in blind alot of the fun in this game is learning about the world and funny enough finding out if the weird creature is gonna be a friend or enemy itll get you killed once or twice but with death being such a big part of the game dont stress just explore and learn this weird culture if i was to simplify it imagine you dont speak english and you've never seen the culture, land, or animals that roam it is that thing walking on 4 legs a monster a guard perhaps hes royalty just like real life you can see a bathroom and the toilets may look different but its still a toilet, but you could see a tire on fire assume its a tire just for it to be a sacred relic you use for weapon buffing these are just examples im using that i made up cause i dont want to spoil the eureka moments this game provides. for 3 dollars its a fair price and i wouldnt even say wait for a deal as the game is more than fair at this price point.

Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
sure, the whole game had more balance issues along the way, having incredibly weird difficulty curve going up and down like a rollercoaster, and the skills were randomly thrown at you where you didn't use half of them mostly, but the progression was rewarding and the atmosohere with the art and the music made it incredibly fun to explore

Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
Sound and Audio are also as vivid as the visuals with the Soundtrack being this Earworm-like Mix of Abstract Surf Rock and the audio sounding like it was created on another planet with the many interactions this game has.
