When it comes to the music, we are greeted by the soundtrack composed by Tomáš Dvořák (Floex).
So only the art style and atmosphere (music) are carrying this game, while the actual gameplay is ass.
When the silent narrative + music combine, the game truly feels like an interactive short film.
Josef being able to stretch or shrink his height is a fantastic mechanic that adds depth to the puzzles.
you want to come back here not only because of the art, the difficulty, or the story, but mainly because of the feeling machinarium gives you. these tiny shabby streets, silly robots, and warm tones - it all makes you feel at home <3
Animations also add character: small details like Josef stretching and shrinking strengthen both the gameplay and humor.
