Developed by Firefly Studios and released in 2005, the game set out to evolve the beloved Stronghold series by expanding its systems into full 3D, introducing more complex economy chains, law and order systems, and a dual-path campaign structure.
A huge amount of buildings, decent variety of troops, AI is still kinda bad and I'm OK with it, story is OK, graphics and artstyle are good and the OST is just gorgeous.
For those who prefer freeform play, the game also includes skirmish maps and a robust multiplayer mode, although the latter has always been somewhat unstable and prone to desync issues.
Hint: Remember you can adjust gameplay speed mid mission, I would recommend doing this at the start of each level till you've got your desired castle layout.
