What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The original Moto Racer was hailed “as the first outstanding arcade-style racer to appear on PC” and Moto Racer 2 had “more courses than its predecessor, a level editor, garnered positive reviews from critics, praising its graphics and variety of gameplay”, eventually being nominated for "Best Racing Game of the Year" award at IGN's Best of 1998 Awards.
At first glance, Moto Racer 4 looks like it understands what makes an arcade motorcycle game fun: exaggerated speed, vibrant scenery, and simple mechanics designed to emphasize reflexes over realism.
That's a shame because there is even a split-screen mode so it could have been very fun for some couch gaming sessions.
The soundtrack and general pace of races aim for lighthearted energy, which can resonate with players who simply want a quick, uncomplicated motorcycle racer and are willing to overlook its flaws.
