What players think
The recurring themes across 52 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Fortunately, the alternate objectives, endings, changing encounters, difficulty options, and unpredictable antagonist behavior give the experience reasons to revisit areas beyond simply replaying the same sequence.
Overall, Shards Of Solitude is an interesting survival horror experience that understands the value of making its antagonist an active part of the gameplay rather than simply an obstacle to avoid.
All in all, this is an overall well thought out game that looks and plays fantastically, with an AI that, while easy to avoid and escape (preparing to eat words upon starting higher difficulties), has a nice variety of behaviours and is backed by some really good voice acting.
