What players think
The recurring themes across 174 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The story itself is a good one, the characters and the story are well outlined, the graphics are also one of the best I've seen in such a game, I recommend it!
This amnesiac setup immediately aligns the player’s curiosity with the protagonist’s, turning exploration into both a mechanical and narrative drive as you search not only for an exit, but for answers about identity, purpose, and the disaster that shattered the world around you.
Complementing this is a soundtrack that adapts well to different moments, shifting from subdued and mysterious during exploration to energetic and urgent during combat-heavy sections.
Visually, One Dog Story embraces a pixel art style that recalls classic 16-bit era platformers while still maintaining its own personality.
I picked this game up with the soundtrack for less than $5, and I must say, the music in this game is really good as well.
