That is optimal of course, Into the Breach just facilitates that playstyle.
Weapons and upgrades can be swapped and adapted between missions, allowing you to refine your build as a run progresses.
The visuals and UI are both solid at communicating info while looking pleasing to the eye and the music, while quite limited, feels fitting without taking up too much of my headspace while trying to formulate a plan.
Every victory is immensely satisfying, every defeat feels avoidable, difficulty can be finely tuned to your needs so you never have a reason to quit, and the art style, music, sound design, and soul of this game just charm the hell out of me.
The clear, refined spritework, entertaining pilot dialogue, and adequate soundtrack/sound design make it even more enjoyable.
Works flawlessly on the Steam Deck and I'd say controller layout is a smoother way to play than PC.
