What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It combines both novel features, mostly through being melee based with purposefully clumsy ranged combat, as well a very authentic feeling old school look and character.
Not only is it incredibly varied in its locales, the standard key and switch based progression feels very well thought out.
The visuals feel straight from the 90s and this was built on Engine 001.
I will grant, however, that played on the second highest (of four) difficulty levels, the combat was lenient enough that I could backpedal and strafe around foes with enough time to access what I needed.
The human enemies have clear stun and pain states with nice, crunchy sound effects, as do the larger enemies.
The story seems nice, the graphics looks good, but ...... the engine the game uses is crap.
