What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Draugen is a walking sim, in other words a narrative game with lots of walking around and exploring the beautiful surroundings while trying to uncover the secrets.
Music, lighting, voice acting, characters and character animations were all top notch.
The voice acting is impressive.
Draugen has a beautiful wrapping: I loved the scenery in Graavik (the town has a nice sense of place), the graphical design of the characters and the fonts used in the game, the voice acting, and the moody music that accompanies the main menu.
The controls (I used an old Xbox controller) aren't quite as smooth as I would've liked and there were times when the game didn't respond to my commands (specifically the "sprint" interaction), so I had to release the button and press it again for the MC to start running.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
