What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
But there is a decent amount of playable content aside the main story progression (which alone is kinda short).
What elevates the story is the game’s commitment to tone: it never takes itself too seriously, instead leaning into absurdity with sharp, satirical writing that lampoons 1950s American culture, politics, and science fiction tropes with surprising precision.
The visuals are texture rich, pretty and the colours pop-up really well.
The ability to freely switch between grounded combat and aerial destruction in your UFO creates an engaging power fantasy that few games replicate.
The first boss fight is fun and not too difficult, but that 2nd boss fight is a massive upgrade & skill check.
The voice acting, especially Richard Steven Horvitz’s performance as Crypto, remains excellent, preserving the charm and comedic timing that defined the original.
