Good game, and lots of good fun with interesting turn based game mechanics.
The plot was definitely an afterthough (which is not bad by itself). but it treated itself as a writing masterpiece.
The art style is obviously amazing and worthy of study for artists and game designers, it's how I heard about this game to begin with.
I think the devs wanted to balance out the way they were in HoMM3 (very strong units with the combat oriented around protecting them) by giving a limit to how many units you can have in a stack, but thanks to that I ended up just filling my armies with as many stacks of ranged units as possible and going through every combat with ease.
The 2.5d overworld is a nice aesthetic choice and expansion factions finally bring enough diversity to the roster, though overly weak AI makes this more of a social game than a singleplayer strategy challenge.
the pixelart is stellar and the controller (steam deck) support is amazing!
