The scope of LoA 1 (already referring to it thusly, because a second title is in development) is moderately epic, with quite a nice-sized open world to explore.
A large open world to explore, a full party of characters to level up and equip, lots of little things to discover while you explore, simple and fast turn-based combat, and a nice sense of adventure.
Captures the fun of the 90s RPGs but with a smooth interface and more clarity in quests, gear, etc.
Took me almost 35 hours on the hardest difficulty and I would strongly suggest playing it that way for maximum enjoyment.
Highly recommended to fans of Wizardry, Bard's Tale, MoM, etc., though I think that new players curious about genre roots and tolerant of simple graphics could certainly enjoy it independent of its influences.
Each class has a special ability that can be used once per rest period, and these were all generally very useful.
