What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The stealth mechanics are great, using light and sound effectively (although I found the sound meter to be mostly obsolete, you can usually tell how much sound you're making well).
All of the endings are fun to get, and how they interop with the story is fun.
The game's PSX/retro visuals are decent, they get the job done and leave a lot of room for interpretation, adding to the horror of it all.
All this makes him feel very genuine, like it's not an artificial difficulty, or a scripted one.
The sound design is also amazing, the sounds of the killer, fumbling over physics props that make noise and give away your location, Granny, etc.
Movement and interaction feel awkward enough that using a controller is actually the better option, which is kind of embarrassing for a PC game.
